Desi Diet Recipe - Ragi Malt

Desi Diet - Ragi Malt  can be used to make an Instant Health Drink, Porridge (with miik or buttermilk),Ladoos.It can also be used to make various Indian preparations like dosas, idlis, Ragi Roti and Upma.


'Puttu' is a traditional breakfast of Kerala, usually made with rice powder together with coconut and steamed in a cylindrical steamer. The same preparation is also made with Desi Diet - Ragi Malt powder, which makes it more nutritious

Multigrain flour preparation by combining wheat and finger millet (Ragi Malt)
in the ratio of 7:3 (wheat: Ragi Malt) is one of the simplest ways of incorporating ragi in the daily diet as no Indian meal is complete without the Indian style bread or roti. In the proposed blend, though the gluten content is reduced significantly, the making of chapatti is not much affected. However, the color turns a little dark.

 

Fortification of finger millet in chapattis is very helpful in controlling glucose levels in diabetic patients efficiently..

Desi Diet - Ragi Malt Instant  Drink 

 

Ingredients :

 

Desi Diet - Ragi Malt

Country Jaggery

Milk

Water

 Preparation :

 

Step 1 : Mix the 1 table spoon of Ragi Malt in  200 ml of water along with country jaggery and make it in to a mixture without lumps.

 

Step 2 : To this mixture add hot milk (or hot water).

 

Desi Diet - Ragi Malt is ready to be served!

 

Desi Diet - Ragi Malt Porridge (with milk)

 

Ingredients :

 

Desi Diet - Ragi Malt

Country Jaggery

Milk

Water

Preparation :

 

Step 1 : Mix the 1 table spoon of Ragi Malt in 200 ml of water along with country jaggery and make it in to a mixture without lumps. Cook the mixture in a vessel for around 2 minutes with constant stirring to get a semisolid consistency.(as shown in the below video).

 

Add hot milk to the mixture,garnish with coconut gratings and serve !

 

 Desi Diet - Ragi Malt Porridge (with butter milk)

 

Ingredients :

 

Desi Diet - Ragi Malt

Salt

Buttermilk

Water

Small Onions,Curry Leaves,Chilly

 

Preparation :

Step 1 : Mix the 1 table spoon of Ragi Malt in 200 ml of water along with salt and make it in to a mixture without lumps. Cook the mixture in a vessel for around 2 minutes with constant stirring to get a semisolid consistency.

 

 

 

Allow the mixture to cool. Add buttermilk to the cooled mixture with constant stirring. Garnish with finely cut Small Onions,Curry leaves,small piece of green chilly and serve !

 

 

Desi Diet - Ragi Malt Ladoos

 

Ingredients :

 

Desi Diet - Ragi Malt

Country Jaggery

Milk

Ghee,Nuts

Water

 

Preparation :

 

Step 1 : Roast required amount of Desi Diet  Ragi Malt in a dry pan for a minute.Roast the nuts (cashew,badam,walnut,dry grapes etc.,)in ghee and add this to Ragi Malt.

 

Step 2 : Sprinlke milk on the mixture and bring the mixture  to ladoo consistency.Make delicious ladoos with this mixture.
